I'd say save your money and buy a better quality CD player from a brand like Sony, Hitachi, etc. Every time I try to play a CD on this it bounces, this goes for new CDs as well as old CDs. At first I thought maybe it was because I was playing CDs I'd had for a while, so I tried playing brand new CDs in this - ones which had literally just come out of the packet and had not been played elsewhere, and I experienced the same problem. And yes, I have made sure they were cleaned properly, i.e no dust, no finger prints, no visible scratches, and I was careful with how I put the CDs into the player, and made sure the player itself was clean. I've also tried quite a few CDs on this - mainly new ones, with the same result.
There is a separate compartment to play tapes, and that plays slightly better albeit with a lot of interference in the background. So if you still have those old cassette tapes for whatever reason, then it is ok for that.
I am disappointed in this product - I did buy a new CD player from Sony, and did not experience these problems - so it was definitely not due to the CDs I was playing. My CDs also play well on my laptop or on my TV through a connected CD and DVD player, so I do regret buying this product when I could have brought a slightly better one.
