Book Description

4 Jan 2007

‘It’s that alligator . . . Dad should never have brought it into the house. Crunchbag has escaped and he’s eaten Granny!’

Some dads bring home rabbits. Or dogs. Or parrots. Not Nicholas’s dad. The latest member of their family is Crunchbag – the ALLIGATOR! Soon he’s running riot in the bathroom and on the roof and even in the park! But he wouldn’t eat poor defenceless Granny . . . would he?

5.0 out of 5 stars I like this book a lot 5 Nov 2001

In this story the boy's dad comes home with an alligator. It gets up to all sorts of mischief. The family even think that the alligator has eaten Granny.
the book is short and funny and it has got good pictures. It fits in your pocket so you can take it anywhere.unlike Harry Potter books which would have to go in a rucksack

4.0 out of 5 stars GREAT STUFF! 1 May 2008
Nicholas's dad is always doing strange things. One day he brings home an alligator (who he names Crunchbag and looks after like a pet), but the menacing monster causes nothing but trouble, especially with the tedious neighbours next door - Mr and Mrs Tugg. This is the first of three stories about Nicholas and his foolish family. The others are called `My Granny's Great Escape' and `My Mum's Going to Explode'.
Jeremy Strong is a famous and very popular children's author. He has won many awards for many books including 2000 Sheffield Children's Book Award (for Dinosaur Pox), 1998 NFCBG Book Award (for My Granny's Great Escape), and the 1997 NFCBG Children's Book Award (for The Hundred Mile an Hour Dog).
I enjoyed reading this book and think that it could be turned into a funny poem. I would rate it 8/ 10 and would recommend it to children 7+.

5.0 out of 5 stars We Love Jeremy Strong! 25 Jun 2008
By 3P fans
We think this book is fantastic! Dad has got himself into a lot of trouble. He has brought home an alligator from work, which has caused a lot of chaos. The alligator eats EVERYTHING and even runs away, which makes Dad get arrested!
We think the book is magnificent and will make you laugh your socks off!
We would recommend this books to anyone over 7 years old.

4.0 out of 5 stars A very good book 23 Jun 2008
My Dad's got an Alligator is a really good book. Dad's buys an alligator brings it home where it eats all of the furniture. He also eats the remote control and plays havoc with the family.
Jeremy Strong has written lots of funny books we have read in class. We also love My Mum's Going to Explode.
We liked the book because it's very funny and we think you will like it.
We would recommend it to 8 year olds because some are the words are hard to read.
