I bought this from my former mother-in-law's three hundredth birthday, chiefly because my ex-wife wouldn't allow me to make up a bespoke party bag for her containing spiders, worms, a crucifix and a signed and smiling photograph of me.
This CD contains loads of the songs that used to be used to such great effect in the show, particularly as a means of gently getting from one scene to the next. The CD caused a scene when my former mother-in-law opened it too. I thought that everyone was a fan of 'Dad's Army', it never occurred to me for one instant that she would not be. Surely everyone with even a smidgen of a sense of humour would like 'Dad's Army', wouldn't they? Ah, wait a minute - that might just explain where I might have gone wrong. Yes. That might explain why she did not Wish Me Luck As She Waved This CD Goodbye... straight into the nearest dustbin. But never mind, I managed to salvage it and it was one of the few things I was allowed to keep in my divorce too.
Now I can sit in my bedsit and fortify myself for the life ahead of me with a real dose of World War II spirit. Blue Skies Are Round The Corner, that I can almost believe when I am listening to this CD. I just hope they can hurry up a bit, that's all.
