Amazon.co.uk Review

There are some good laughs to be found in Daddy Day Care, especially if you're a pre-schooler with energy to burn. This romper-room comedy shamelessly exploits its high concept idea--dropping Eddie Murphy into a seething den of rugrats--but kids will have plenty of vicarious fun as Murphy and his fellow laid-off colleague (Jeff Garlin) battle unemployment by opening a day-care centre in Eddie's home. In partial Witches mode, Anjelica Huston hams it up as a day-care competitor bent on closing Eddie down, while doofus extraordinaire Steve Zahn is recruited as a third partner in "Daddy Day Care", trying his best to entertain a pack of hyperactive kids who've stopped taking their Ritalin. Zahn makes a funny Star Trek fan (even when the script contains bogus Trekkie trivia), and Murphy deserves credit for giving his all in a comedy that mostly squanders his talent. --Jeff Shannon

GREAT!!!! 30 April 2011
Format:DVD
DADDY DAY CARE is one of the most heartwarming, funny and entertaining kid's films ever made! It is definately a classic and the acting was perfect. Anjelica Huston plays a spiteful but hilarious school head mistress who tries to put a stop to DADDY DAY CARE, run by Charlie (Eddie Murphy) who has lost his job and wants to run a care place for children. Daddy day care starts off as a hectic place where children break stuff, but Charlie and his gang soon get the hang of it. Unfortunately, Huston is determined to put an end to them. It's really funny! Buy it now!

"Daddy"? Day Care 21 Aug 2009
By J. Dale
Format:DVD
Daddy Day Care is very something new that's not been done before, when Eddie Murphy and Jeff Galin lose their jobs due to a failed breakfast cereal product and outvoted for a chocolate cereal, both father's are forced to pull their sons out of the expensive Chapman Academy and become stay-at-home father's, until they both start running a day care centre, which then get a rival from the director (Angelica Houston) at the Chapman Academy.

Daddy Day Care promises to bring all the laughter and tongue in cheeks stunts that little terror - tots like to do: Misbehave. This film is recommended to children because it mainly focuses on trying to get the laughter out of children and not adults, although if you are an adult who still maintains a nice, warm children's heart, then by all means you would love this film to pieces. This film has a good storyline, no-over-the-top graphics and manages to stay at a certain level to keep us focused on the film's plot line and also bring out the laughter.

I love this film, some may say it's stupid and childish, but if you don't take this too seriously and just sit back, relax and enjoy this wonderful film.

There's a fair amount of childish humour, kicking people in various parts of the anatomy, children running riot over 2/3 adult males who've lost their jobs or quit and dealing with the competition, plus the dreaded inspector.

There are some great performances from the kids (especially Max Burkholder) who plays Eddie Murphys son, as for Eddie Murphy he puts in a more serious comedic performance than we may be used to, (more like his performance in Life), plus good solid turns by Steve Zahn, Anjelica Huston and Jeff Garlin.

I think most people will take something from this film which does make some good points about the world we live in today too, it's just a delightful comic romp, enjoy!!

Extremely dissatisfied with the order
Although a pleasing, funny film, I ordered this item, 'new', directly from Amazon - Arrived with the box and disk scratched, clearly used previously. Very angering.
