This album (was it the only one) from the original English group Dada was really ahead of its time. The level of musicianship was excellent with that great voice of Elkie Brooks up front. So no its not that Californian group!!! It's music!

Featuring the vocal talents of Elkie Brooks, this 1970 project helmed by Pete Gage has the feel of a long lost rock musical soundtrack helped in no small part by the prescence of original Hair cast member and song writer Paul Korda. Korda gets a fair amount of the vocal leads but its Elkie who steals the show, her seemingly natural and effortless voice and that amazing high falsetto banshee scream standing out. This album is pretty cheap at the moment and is well worth a listen. In small print on the inside of the cover is a thanks to Robert Palmer who joined after the album was recorded. Along with bass player Steve York, Gage, Brooks and Palmer then became Vinegar Joe.

Been looking for a CD copy of this for years. Some really good songs from back in the day from a band that should have had more recognition. Elkie does some good stuff too.
