Funny poems 12 Feb 2008
Format:Paperback
This book is jam packed with funny/ sad/ hopeful /silly poems which I really like. My favourite poem is funny and it goes like this:
`Tread on a leaf
And you'll marry a thief.
Tread on a slug
And you'll marry a thug.
Tread on a straw
And you'll marry a bore.
Tread on your lace
And you'll fall on your face!'
I think that Steve Turner did a great job on this book. The illustrations were good as well - well done David Mostyn. Rating: I would positively rate it 7/ 10. Recommendation: I would without doubt recommend it to all kids of all ages.

Format:Paperback
This is a great read for young poetry lovers and a gentle introduction for those who are not so keen. There are around 70 poems in all, some are two pages, others are one verse. There is variety, and the subject matter covers family, friends and school. The book is divided up into sections such as 'Fun and Games', 'Family and Friends' and 'Animals and Insects'. Some of the poems are very funny and others slightly sad. The book is accompanied by some good illustrations, bringing the poetry to life.

Railway Track

We used to put coins
On the railway line
Which someone once said
Was a terrible crime
It wasn't that we might have
Stumbled and died
But that the Queen's head
Would go thin and wide.
