Product Description

Review

'A splendid little book, full of humorous nostalgia for the cars your dad and in many cases you possibly also drove with such pride in the 60's, 70's and 80's.
A great present for maybe Father's Day or Christmas.'

(AMAZON CUSTOMER REVIEW of MY DAD HAD ONE OF THOSE )

Product Description

When you were a kid your Dad might have seemed like a man of simple pleasures. But like the rest of us, your Dad had dreams. Yes, he loved your Mum, but if Diana Dors came knocking with a trampoline and two drums of baby oil he'd have been out of his armchair in a flash. And don't think he was content with that Cortina or Cavalier either, because Dad was quietly dreaming of Ferraris, Astons and other shiny wedges that in truth he could never afford.

This book celebrates those exotic fantasies that gave your Dad a faraway look in his eyes. If you're looking for more details on the Diana Dors thing you might have to find a more specialist publication.

I bought this book for an old friend who despite his middle age still remains an incurable 'Petrol Head' and he absolutely loved it. These were the cars he longed for in his youth and probably still does.
Wittily written and a great keepsake for those that will still sigh at the sight of an immaculate old Ferrari.

I bought the authors' last book, My Dad Had One of Those, for my dad last Father's Day and he loved it so much that I ended up stealing it from him one weekend and reading it myself. This year I was happy to see that they had done another book and so of course I bought it and liked it so much I ended up ordering another copy to give to my dad so I could keep the first one. As with the previous book the pictures are wonderfully nostalgic and the writing is warm and often hilarious too. I highly recommend it as a gift and also just for a nice trip down memory lane for yourself.

Reasonably entertaining, but many of the cars included were so out of most people's league that we didn't even dream of owning them. I had read My Dad Had One of These by the same author and that was much more down-to-earth and enjoyable.
