The Crystals were one of Phil Spectors main acts on his Philles label during the early 1960's
Their line up changed over the years But the quality of their records remained high and all the singles released [and not withdrawn] made the American Charts with one extra Uk only single [I wonder] adding to their collection of British chart entries .
Lead vocals were taken by Patsy Wright, Barbra Alston Darlene love and Lala Brooks, Pages have been written about how Phil Spector did or did not treat them, However for all the pitfalls of their career with him. they as a group are still very much remembered as one of the most successful 'Girl Groups ' of that era
All 18 tracks on this album are great original recordings, One track from the vaults 'Woman in love with you' has finally seen the daylight, It is a great track with Lala Brooks in wonderful vocal form.
It is a shame that the track 'Girls can tell' has not been included in this CD, However all of their hits are included , plus some album tracks from their Philles tenure.
Evidently there were many unreleased tracks hidden away in the Spector vaults, It would be a delight to all 'Spector' fans if one day these were unearthed and made available.
