Need to connect DVI to DVI
This cable is just the thing! Don't be baffled by the blurb - that's
just for the teccies. All you need to know is that this will magically
connect DVI to DVI. The cable plugs on to a standard DVI graphics card
one end (19 pin plus horizontal spade on port) and the other end is an
identical DVI male to plug straight into a DVI enabled monitor / TFT /
LCD Screen or similar DVI enabled product. Please note that the missing
pins from the middle are not necessary for a straight DVI to DVI
connection so this is normal.
It is also known as a DVI-I to DVI-I Connection. More information on DVI
DVI is a new form of video interface technology made to maximize the
quality of flat panel LCD monitors and high- end video graphics cards.
The DVI specification defines a digital interface for use between a
computing device and a display device. It offers the benefits of digital
video with no analogue signal you are guaranteed a high quality
connection. The cable listed here offers a true DVI connection both
sides. The pins and sockets have gone high-tech, instead of the standard
cylindrical pins found on familiar connectors, the DVI pins are
flattened and twisted to create a Low Force Helix (LFH) contact.
Colour may vary due to supplier availability. Black cable or grey/white
cables.

Cable is as pictured i.e. single link type, not dual. Example I received is excellent quality, ex-Dell stock from the supplier I bought it from apparently. No reason to dispute this (thankfully), delivers pure digital picture via DVI connection just as it should, and length of 2 metres is great for the price. Definitely recommend as an alternative to the more expensive branded cables available from Amazon, which this one makes not such good value in comparison.

This turned out to be the correct item to connect directly to my LCD monitor from desktop PC video card.

This is a DVI-I cable and will NOT fit a device designed for DVI-D. The description says to ignore the blurb, and states that it will fit any device designed for DVI. WELL THAT IS INCORRECT and right now I'm very angry about that, as I didn't know about the difference between DVI-I and DVI-D before. Both my monitor and graphics card (perfectly standard models) will not fit this cable, so I have to go to the effort of returning it. The cable itself seems very high quality at least, but to be honest it's almost too good as it's so thick and stiff, it would be a bit of a pain to use.
My rating is based on this particular cable, not the fact that it's incorrectly sold.

Working but not what it says on the tin.
The description clearly describes this as a DVI-I cable so in needing one I ordered it along with a DVI-I to DVI-D adapter so it fits in my monitor too. Read more

Great product at a great price
Don't bother with the 'premium' cables as the signal is digital - duh. This is a great cable at a great price and worked without problems with my wife's Mac Mini.
