Good buy and great price, we use these straps as well as a whole host of other straps to secure our two kayaks to our car upright rack when we go on holiday. Never had any problems so far and we have travelled to Scotland from Yorkshire on several occasions.

Used them to tie down my shed during the recent storms and they worked a treat. They are strong and light and easy to use.

Sadly they did not last. Bought them as EXTRA strapping for camping. Did not get through the season before they frayed greatly. Worse, tried to make use of them and they almost ripped in my hands.

hooks bend and ratchet mechanism falls apart after very little use. Go for a more robust item as this really wont do the job.

You get what you pay for and I got what I expected :)
I only needed these tie downs for one journey so was not too bothered about the quality when I ordered them.
The webbing is not very robust and the mechanism is very flimsy.
I would not want to trust these tie downs with any significant load as I suspect it wouldn't take much for the mechanism to fail.
To give myself a bit of confidence with them, I used all four tie down to hold a set of ladders on a van roof.

Look great but are made from very thin soft metal. I purchased 4 of these and all 4 bent and were useless after the first tighten of the ratchet. The edges are sharp and not easy to remove if you could get any pressure on to secure your items. I wound like to think I was relying on these to hold anything down while on the motorway.
All now in the bin!

I bought these from amazon because I couldn't find the pound shop item. These are very good for emergencies and for temporary repairs. Worked very well and I would definately buy them again.
