We have been using DK Eyewitness guides for over 10 years as the main source of travel information to support our travels all over the world. They are very informative and usually up-to-date and accurate. If we have a minor gripe it is that they're quite heavy to carry around!For this reason we sometimes supplement them with a copy of the relevant DK Top Ten guide. We're currently on a three week tour of Southwest USA and the DK Travel guide to Southwest USA & Las Vegas is an essential companion.

Good guide, I loved the maps.
The only minus is that it doesn't offer hints on where the best view (for making photos) is and other traveller needs like best routes, time of the day, etc.

The introductions in this guide were reasonable. The photographs are true to DK quality. unfortunately, there is nothing else positive to say. Descriptions of places to visit are just satisfactory and information mostly is superficial. It lacked authors'recommendations and suggestions. I will need a further travel guide for completeness of information before we travel.

I used this book in planning a road trip around the Southwestern US and it was nearly perfect for this purpose. So much easier to use than the other similar travel guides. Read more

LA etc? Highway 66? this would be covered in another southwestern usa guide book so buy more than one guide book!
