We relied on this book for accommodation and food. It did not let us down! The recommendations were spot on. The colour pictures bring to life what to expect to see, and it is categorised and referenced in the most useful way. This book, coupled with TomTom and a quick cross-refer to another travel guide enabled us to explore Florida independently, which resulted in an excellent holiday!

Obviously, I didn't know the whole of Florida in detail, but I do know some areas really well.
Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede ahow closed down in Orlando January 2008, and yet it's still listed as a dinner attraction on p191!
John's Pass is derscribed as a re-created fishing village. In fact is is a fishing village! (p252)
Based on these two examples, I would not be surpised if there were similar errors. Therefore, also the book is very good in the way it is laid out, and the illustrations, I would not have 100% confidence in it and it would probably be wise to check up on the internet before planning to visit anything / anywhere.

I bought this guide as we have used DK guides for many countries over the years. They are descriptive and colourful, even though they are written for the American market.
There are some very factual items about Disney/Universal theme parks - queuing times, days to avoid for the queues etc.
We have not yet been to Florida, but I am sure that we shall find this guide indispensable.
