Chart-topping DJ/chanteuse, Sonique has a slight advantage over her contemporaries when it comes to creating a mix album--she can sing. Thankfully, no-one else on the big-name DJ circuit has yet taken up this challenge as Sonique has on her Live Club Mix. Imagine the potential horror of Brandon Block or Sasha attempting to croon over their sets and suddenly you can appreciate Sonique's talents all the more. On this comp though, she keeps the vocal interludes to a respectful minimum, preferring instead to let the music and her mixing do the talking. Starting out with Silicone Soul's impressive "Right On Right On", the first CD sees the female phenomenon blend together everything from silky, chugging house tracks such as Colours' "The Guitar Track" and Xtra Large's "Mind Ma de Up" to breakbeat feasts such as the Plump DJ's "Scram" and Beber and Tamra's "Travelling On". CD 2 is set aside for the more aggressive side of things, with progressive pumpers like DJ Tiesto's "Flight 643" and Toma Vira's "The Sound Of Oh: Yeah". Throwing in a special live performance of the Energy 52 "Café Del Mar/Feel So Good" bootleg for good measure, Sonique has made a pretty good job of an album that caters for most musical tastes. --Paul Sullivan

only one word can describe this album lovin it, it combines some classic house tunes with some modern just released tunes, and the great vocals of sonique herself . the first cd lacks the tunes of the second but makes up with one tune cafe del mar by energy 52 which soniques vocals have been placed into it sounds great

JUST AMAZING!!!

This CD is one of those rare MIX CD's that you will want to cherish for the rest of your life. There is always something fresh or new that I discover since I first got the CD back in 2000 and I still groove to it none-stop.
Some amazing minimal-tech, techno, trance and to all of that you add the amazing voice of SONIQUE working her own lyrics over the tracks, just makes the CD one of the kind.
If you already have experienced her DJ tech-niks on her first MIX album Serious Sounds , you will know what I'm talking about.
There is an amazing quality to her song compilation that never gets tired or over played. I usually go and sale or trade in most (if not all )my DJ mix CD's cause with time they get extreamly tiresome or just simply the song selections become like an anthem song compilation for all of the DJ's that might have a cd out at the same time and if I hear the same songs over and over on several other mixes I just feel like shooting my self and the re-freshing part here with Sonique is that I have not gone to that point and I don't think I will ever will.
Let's put it this way... If I would have to make a selection of an all time favorite mix DJ set would be by far Sonique's CLUB MIX & Serious Sounds.
One of a kind in their own kind.
