Product Description

Just insert the adapter into an available USB port (windows will be able to find the drivers instantly), no need to reboot. The Adapter powers itself from the USB port.

Wireless USB Adapter gives you the opportunity to install a PC or Laptop in the most convenient location.

Its auto-sensing capability allows high packet transfer up to 150Mbps for maximum throughput, or dynamic range shifting to lower speeds due to distance or operating limitations in an environment with a lot of electromagnetic interference.

It can also interoperate with all the 11Mbps wireless (802.11b) products. Your wireless communications are protected by up to 128-bit encryption, so your data stays secure.

Supports WPA data security, TKIP/AES encryption, 64/128-Bit WEP encryption.

Works with IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g and IEEE 802.11n products.

High-speed data transfer rate - up to 150Mbps

I bought this for my old windows XP Desktop as I no longer wanted wires trailing around the house. It works amazingly well, lovely connectivity and hardly any speed loss, and no ghastly wires to worry about.
I had no problems persuading it to work automatically after loading the driver on the supplied mini CD ROM, and my only regret is not buying one sooner.

Bought this item to replace a Belkin which was supplied with a new Dell computer because they couldn't provide a wireless card. The Belkin - the 2nd one I have owned was dreadful with poor connectivity and speed. Searched for a replacement on Amazon, and selected this one, despite it having no previous reviews. It arrived promptly. Plugged it in to the same USB Port as was used by the Belkin and immediately Windows 7 found the software and connected at maximum speed. No hassle. Have used it for over a week now and there have been no disconnections or slow speeds to report. Delighted to recommend this particular item. The instruction book is a bit difficult to read as it is tiny, but in the event it wasn't needed.

Excellant product for the money, easy to setup and use and has had no problems so far. We bought it to use on an older PC running XP that we were selling to someone for use with a wireless network and it works perfectly.

This little thing could not be any simpler -- I plugged it into my PC, it installed its own drivers and software automatically, and within seconds it had picked up the wireless signal from my router and I was online. EASY.

I recently relocated my PC to a room without a phone point which meant I had to keep my broadband router in a different room from the PC, hence the need for a wireless connection.

I read the previous reviews and decided to buy this 150Mbps adapter rather than the 54Mbps one but still anticipated problems as everyone does who's not 100% familiar with the technical side of computers. I didn't find the manual at all user friendly so I just plugged in the adapter and hoped for the best. Fortunately an installation wizard appeared on my Windows XP computer which instructed me to load the CD which came with the adapter then the process was a doddle - I didn't need to refer to the manual at all. Afterwards I just needed to confirm I wanted to connect to a wireless connection for my emails but everything's been fine since then. In fact, my signal is now "excellent", an improvement from the ethernet connection.

I bought this based on all the good reviews - it obviously works really well for many people.

I'm running Windows 7 64bit. When I first got it going it was okay, although my signal was listed as poor. As I'd only just moved house, and also hadn't used wireless before, I didn't know any different. In the last few weeks, however, the signal has just been cutting out completely as it is so poor. I ended up rebooting, turning my modem on and off, messing with my firewall and cursing a fair bit, before it struck me that it could be the dongle that was causing the bad reception. So I found a long network cable and used this to check. My internet was fantastic without the dongle. I have returned it, and Amazon were fantastic as ever.

I'm editing this with some extra information. I bought a "Laptone Wireless N Internet USB Adaptor WiFi Dongle For Windows 7/ XP/Vista" instead, and the reception from this is excellent. This might be helpful to anyone else who has had the same problem.

When I got the product working it works flawlessly. Unfortunately the installation disc provided was blank and I had to download the driver from a website. The url was indicated in the manual but it was difficult to work out which download to choose.

Other reviewers are moaning about having to reconfigure the wireless adapter each time you boot windows. In truth they just need to play with the settings- its very configurable. The manual is useful in this aspect.
