Product Description

"I've been married so many times, they should revoke my license," says NY model, and reluctant pilot Lalla Bains.

Running her dad's Crop-Dusting business in Modesto, California she's hoping to dodge the inevitable fortieth birthday party. But when her trophy red '58 Cadillac is found tail-fins up in a nearby lake, the police ask why a widowed piano teacher, who couldn't possibly see beyond the hood ornament, was found strapped in the driver's seat.

Reeling from an interrogation with local homicide, Lalla is determined to extricate herself as a suspect in this strange murder case. Unfortunately, drug running pilots, a cross-dressing convict, a crazy Chihuahua, and the dead woman's hunky nephew throw enough road blocks to keep Lalla neck deep in an investigation that links her family to a twenty-year old murder only she can solve.

5.0 out of 5 stars Top-notch, faced-paced, super-fun! 1 Sep 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
DEAD RED CADILLAC is penned by a master mystery writer with in the moment action from compelling characters. R.P. Dahlke created lovable optimistic Lala, and her name fits her. It's okay Lala has high hopes, some of which could be in LaLa Land. Dahlke sifts in just a hint of back story to let the reader know what's going on, and a whole lot is while she rushes, leg in a cast, to solve a murder. I look forward to being entertained by other books in R.P. Dahlke's top-notch series.

I got this book cos it was free and was pleseantly suprised that it was a good murder mystery. The lead character did worry about being 40 but apart from that it had a good plot that kept you wondering till the end "who dunnit "..If you going on a journey this would be a good way to pass the time.

2.0 out of 5 stars Mmmm.... 19 Jan 2013

I only managed to get to chapter 16 then I gave up because of the authors tedious repetition in assuming we all need to know the inherent faults in every male she meets.
True there are( in life) some that meets her criteria but they seldom accumalate in the way all her characters seem to.
Finaly, how many times can a person' flop into a wicker chair'?
Twice within two pages apparently.
