Product Description

PI Lucy Clewes stumbles into a secret war raging in the back streets and shadows of London. A chilling prediction soon follows: she and her team will all be dead before the London Olympic Games opening ceremony, three short weeks away.
To buy time she hires a former soldier, Miles, as personal security. But the discovery of a dead British agent in the wardrobe of an apartment they recently visited leads to a precarious game of cat-and-mouse with the police and a brutal adversary who is always one step ahead.
As old friends are lost and new alliances formed, no one can be trusted. The chase gathers pace as money, spies and bullets fly from all sides forcing
Lucy to confront her ghosts or perish and Miles to grasp a chance for revenge to find his own redemption before they both become the latest fatalities in Britain’s most secret war.

This book was a great read. From start to finish its quite the roller coaster. Plenty of action and fine humor. I can already see it as a film in my own head.i also learned a few things but i wont spoil it by mentioning them. I really like it when you read a good book and discover facts about history its clever how they are tied into the story, i actually wouldn't be so surprised if it said..based on a true story on the front cover... its that precise.
I hope this writer has more books ready because i am ready to buy them.
Enjoy the read i highly recommend it..

Unbelievable 23 Feb 2012
By Chopper
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I started off enjoying this book and ended up hating it. Why?

Well, the first 85% of the story developed well, with good characters, but then it all became more unbelievable.
By the time we got to the Olympic stadium it was getting heavy going, and then when events in and around a Police station unfolded I just wanted to get to the end.I hate not finishing a book, and also I would not be able to review it honestly.

I like to have my boundaries challenged by a book, but it has to be plausable or possible. I don't want to spoil the somewhat predictable happenings around the Olympic park for someone who has not read this, suffice to say it appeared to be written in a hurry and is totally UNBELIEVABLE.

Plot spoilers below.

By the way Mr Boyle, the senior officer for the Metropolitan Police are Commissioners, not Chief Constables. The Met Commissioner would be committing career suicide if he allowed MI5/6 to do what you describe in a crowded, high vis event like the Olympics.
The custody suite of any UK Police station would never be emptied of personnel & turned over to a gang of murderers,(career suicide for everyone from Custody sergeant up) and most of the internal keys are keypads not metallic jangly things.
Have you ever tried to break the bead on a modern SUV tyre to hide things in?
Can you imagine how long a secret agent would remain "secret" let alone living if he carried on like the man you describe on the flight to Jersey?
Why do two apparently good Investigators plot up at a house and not cover the rear exit?
There were many more mind stretching impossibilities that I will not dwell on.

Poor attention to detail 12 April 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
The plotting was not too bad, but attention to detail was poor, and someone should have proofread it before publishing it. Beware the Spellchecker: it is no substitute for a proper check.
The word "passed" instead of "past" occurred many times, but what really got me was the phrase "Lucy's arm encircled my waste".
What a disgusting image that created.
I assume the author meant "waist".
Where detail is concerned, other reviews have picked up some glaring errors, and to these I would like to add the date of the opening ceremony of the London Olympics. The author gives this as 27th August 2012 but, as any fule kno, the date is in JULY.
I suspect that there must be many more errors, but I cannot be bothered to check for them.
Nor, apparently, is the author who, if he is planning to continue writing, should in future take considerably more care in order to avoid spewing such garbage out.
