Fun:
This is the sort of game that makes you wish that Amazon would provide a zero stars option. A shocking, shocking game - do not buy at any costs.

The concept is OK, but from the start this has amateur written all over it. The menus are clumsy and ugly, the courses are all very similar and to progress to a new track you MUST win on the previous one.

But the real let down is the game play. If you charge off the line at full speed, and make it to the last corner then make a tiny slip, the AI cars are all past you in a split second and you'll finish last. If on the other hand you take it easy, and make a sprint for it on the last lap, you should get past them all OK. In other words, the speed of the AI cars will match your own speed. Wonderful, eh ? The handling is naff - tilting the remote from side to side (longways) is very difficult and imprecise. And finally the track is ridiculously thin in places (for example crossing a 'ruler' between 2 chairs) when you conside the innaccuracies of the remote.

The AI of the other cars is either vindictive (they simply head for you as you go pass them) or just plain terrible (they drive into you as if you weren't there). It doesn't really matter which though, the end result is the same, another tumble to the floor and another restart.

In two player, they have obviously decided to make the game a little harder by making sure you can only see a laughably small distance in front of you on split screen.

Awful, possibly the most frustrating game I have played in the last 30 years.

Very disappointing 13 Dec 2007
By T. Parr
Fun:
I bought this game thinking it would be similar to the classic micro machines which I had had hours of fun with on the PC. I bought the Wii primarily as a party games machine and thought this would be an excellent addition.

I can only say DON'T BUY IT! Although the idea behind the game is the same as micro machines, the implementation is awful. The main and overriding problem is the camera angle. Even in one player mode the camera is set so high that you can't see more than a couple of inches ahead, which leads you to constantly swerve to correct for objects that suddenly appear. The situation is even worse in two player mode, when the screen is split horizontally giving you even less of a view of the track ahead.

The graphics are ok (just about what you expect from the Wii) and similar to the micro machines of 199?, but the speed of the cars is disappointingly slow. Even at this speed the frame rate is poor.

Finally the control system - this seems ok, but I did not play long enough to really get to grips with it since I was so frustrated by the camera angle.

Do yourself a favor and don't buy this game.

Mini desktop racing 8 Jan 2008
Fun:
Great concept -trully awful game - Viewpoint doesn't allow you to anticipate the next section of the course making for difficult driving - viewpoint is fixed - never got past first track so got even more boring playing same course (shame 'cos the graphics and concept are great)- stay well away from this one!
