The Dirt Devil DDCYL1 Compact Bagless Cylinder Vacuum packs an impressive 1600W. This vacuum has a 2.5L dust capacity and seven-stage filtration system. It weighs 4.3kg. You can vacuum with ease, thanks to the carpet-height adjustment feature and easy-carry handle. Reach smaller spaces with the two-piece durable long plastic tubes. Plus, the DDCYL1 has Microban antibacterial protection, which kills the bacteria found in the dust collected by the vacuum cleaner, and as a result, helps remove odour.

This is a nice looking vacuum cleaner and light enough to carry around while vacuuming. It has a nifty little wheel on top to increase or decrease engine power as well as the usual sliding button on the hose handle to adjust suction strength by letting in air.
1600 max watts is good; much more than this will make your carpets go bald long before their time. The on/off switch is not located well and you have to reach for it with your pinky if you are carrying the cleaner. It would have much better placed in front of the handle for a thumb press. This comes with a spare for each of the three filters but only one crevice hose to poke into narrow spaces. Has the usual cable retracting button. The engine noise is reasonably quiet and mellow.
No obvious problems. All in all this is good for its price.
UPDATE: Nearly a year and a half of use and it is still going strong. No problems whatsover. I have therefore upgraded it to a 5 star.

You have to empty it out and clean the filter of course, but the plus side is that you don't have to keep searching for the right sized hoover bags, and pay extra for them. I would be happier if the tube was a bit wider as larger objects may be difficult to remove from it, but overall I am pleased with this product, which is also very reasonably priced. It is ideal for a small property or one where there is a minimal carpeted area.

We needed a small vacuum for upstairs rooms as the main one is too large for carrying up and downstairs.
For bedroom carpets and landing this is ideal and stores in a small area.
Delivery, having ordered late on Saturday evening, was made on the Monday - brilliant!

Broke after 6 months
This hoover was light weight and effective, but broke after 6 months, which was very disappointing. I wouldn't recommend for this reason.
