For all you D&D miniature fanatics... if you havn't got any War of the dragon queen packs yet? DO SO! in the large box they come in, you get 7 randomised miniature figures with one huge figure (3X3 base). Don't fret if you beleive the only rare you get is huge; you also get a rare miniature so its like two greats for the price of one along with teh very good amazon price (most of teh time their about £10-15) the value is excellent The huge figures are very durable and make epic battles all that more special as they tower over other creatures (unless their gargantuan or colossal)!
in the huge figures there are 6 Uncommon and 6 Rares with varying faction and power levels. The miniature figures are always as good and there are many that will make your enemies shudder (unless they have fearless) sorry too many jokes

Random?

Although Amazon replaced one that I received due to the bottom access to the "huge" figure being already open (which is a tactic used by people in-store to find the more attractive "huge" figures"), I'm still skeptical of the randomness of these boxes. I've continually gotten repeats without ever getting any of the more interesting Huge figures.
Otherwise, the figures themselves are great. I really like having the huge figure in there to give the set something interesting in comparison to some of the other mini sets.

Not so random...

Although these are great miniatures, out of the 6 boxes I ordered I did not get any large rare figures at all. I actually got duplicates of two uncommon large figures! In the future I wouldn't order more than 2 boxes at a time (in order to receive the free shipping). I usually order sealed cases from another site and now I wish I had paid a few more bucks for the sealed case.

The perfect follow-up to GoL

Giants of Legend (GoL) was the previous "huge" expansion, and it's clear that Wizards learned from their previous run. This set has an excellent balance of huge and regular minis with some amazing sculpture and surprisingly good paint in most cases. The translucent minis are especially breathtaking, and I leave the huge and small fire elementals in the middle of my table while gaming, just for effect.
For the most part, I'm a role-player, and I don't use minis for the collectable gaming element. For D&D these are massively useful. The small black dragon; eldritch giant; and many others are key visual aids for any game that has such creatures, and inspiring enough to make me want to run a game with them!
If you intend to run the Savage Tide Adventure Path when it comes out, the cloudreaver pirates and the tavern brawlers are going to be a big help.
