I had heard a lot of stories about this stuff and wanted to find out more about it before I purchased any to use. As a cyclist I am interested in 'all' products that improve performance. Burkes book is well written and approaches the subject well. There are plenty of references for further reading if you so wish. A great little book, and i'm using Ribose now - all based on this book. If you're a cyclist get Serious Cycling by the same author (as well), its goes it to more detail about quantities to use.
