Overall this is a decent enough little camera. I was looking for a device to mount outdoors, to capture images for a timelapse of a garden landscaping project. My criteria were therefore suitability for outdoor use, and since it will be a temporary installation only - wireless connectivity to avoid the need for cabling. On this points the camera meets my needs, but in a number of other areas - it's disappointing.

The good points first:

1. Construction is good. Thought has been put into this, and the camera looks well engineered for outdoor use. The unit is sealed well, and there are rubber bungs over any screw points or cable entry locations. There are some thoughtful touches like having 2 bung options for the back depending on whether you are using wireless (a bung with no hole that completely seals the back) or wired (the length of Ethernet cable supplied has a bung attached to it), so you'll maintain the weatherproof seal either way. The mounting bracket supplied is sturdy and easy to install. The cable length from the power adapter to the camera is also generous, which helps during installation.

2. The design is aesthetically pleasing (to me at least!), and the overall size of the unit makes for unobtrusive installation. I am using this outdoors, but it wouldn't seem ugly or out of place indoors. My personal preference would be for a colour other than white for outdoors, but that's a minor niggle.

3. The management interface is fine, and has plenty of configuration options from basic through to advanced image control. Given my project needs, I particularly liked the option to set a timed image capture for saving either to a local SD card or a fileserver.

Difficult to set up. Needs to be partially dismantled if you want to feed the cable through a wall and you will still need a fairly large hole drilled too! Once up and running it works well with good quality images, but could do with some sort of lens shield for wet weather when pictures can be obscured by rain drops on the lens.
