It does just what I need. I live in a tall house (four stories) and the wireless network struggled - speed depended heavily on weather conditions.
I had been a little worried about a powerline link because the various computers are on different ring circuits, though not separated by transformers, and I could not find any mention of this on the [...]
But I took the plunge and there were no problems. Excellent.

Research on the web gave conflicting results as to which brand was best, but this seemed to come out well overall.

Not disappointed with the result - as with all powerline adapters, these will NOT give you a 500Mbps connection; all devices with provide a link at a lower rate in practice. What matters is relative performance, both to other brands in the same category, and as a fraction of the 'advertised' max.

I'm getting (according to the supplied utility) a connection of between 250-300Mbps on the downstairs circuit - this depends on the time of day, it's lower when lots of electrical appliances are switched on.

This drops to 100-150Mbps when the adapters are separated by two floors. This still beats a wireless connection by a long way.

This product worked as expected, it was capable of streaming 1080p Video to another room upstairs as that was the main reason why i bought it.
The installation was quite simple, plugged both ends into the power socket and presto... just worked.
Very Pleased with the purchase.

The issue with all Powerline adapters is the power lines in your house, which will have an impact on the speed. I bought these to replace my 85mps pair which were from another manufacture. Speeds had dropped by 75% on my old pair after I had some building work completed.

The D-link are now able to achieve 200% greater speed than the old 85mps versions, which is the limit of the broadband I have so they may go much faster. I am getting 25mps on streaming video from the internet over powerlines, speed were down to 2-3 mps on the olds.

Defiantly a speed boost.

It does exactly what is expected of it. Plug the two units into 2 mains sockets and they are linked. Press the security button within 2 minutes of each other and they are secure.

Speed nowhere near the maximum, but it's an old house with long and old wiring runs. For anyone in a modern and relatively small house this should work very well.

Not sure I'm getting anything like the maximum rated speed, but it's only for a bit of web browsing and stuff so I don't really care, and anyway I've got it on the far side of the house, possibly on a different circuit, and on the end of an extension lead. No problems so far, "just works".

The configuration software is only available for Windows computers. This means that if you don't have access to a Windows PC you are unable to change your password or update the firmware revision. You might not need to do either of these things today, but what if a firmware update is needed six month from now?

I have returned the product as it is reasonable to expect Mac support these days. There are plenty of competing products which do provide such support.

Did n't really understand what these are about (and if I'm honest I still don't)but was advised to buy them so we could watch BBC iPlayer through our TV (and ITV when available) But read the very brief instructions plugged them in and they worked! Simple, quick and cheap solution! No need to buy another TV or Freesat box.
