This guide confirms an ongoing pattern: Many modern LP guides are sloppily researched, hastily published and cater increasingly to middle- or upper-class travellers. To somebody like me, who has been using LP guides for almost 20 years, this is annoying. I feel almost "betrayed." Alright, Cyprus is an expensive destination with a dismal public transport system. But why needs LP reinforce this situation by listing very few cheap eats and basically telling readers to shut up and rent a car? The book literally tells you to ignore Nicosia's municipal buses because they only go to the suburbs and are thus (sic!) of no use. Well perhaps you will let me form my own opinion, thank you!? Even better - publish the official bus route map in the book, which costs you half a page of space and gets you 5 stars for making a decent effort to provide information.
