Then you're in for a treat! Whilst the Author refers some of the name places in the old sense, his varying adventures bring vivid memories of his time there, along with all the exasperations, beautiful or arid landscapes unfold in his journeyings. The very descriptive and impressive emotive feelings he expresses with (unusually) his Wife accompanying him and erstwhile companions add flavour to the characterisation of the whole scenario. Unusually, he admits to the state of the inhabitants of the island as being poorly dressd (typical of the working classes then), who would ever admit to dalliances with fleas found in old dwellings at that time, long before really good hotels were thought of? A bit of the 'Old Wild West' yarn, well told. I know - I've been there 71 years later!
