The problems raised by reviewers of the last edition of this book seem to be relevant again. The book looks brilliant, the photographs are excellent and it certainly whets the appetite, but it is really only a introductory pedal round some of the highlights of the UK's cycle network and it only provides a taster for longer routes. Routes described are usually between 10 and 20 miles and seem to be targeted at families wanting to get their young ones out on the road and people at average levels of fitness. Fingers crossed it achieves that aim.
Buy this book if you want a good looking book which offers some good ideas for rides, but do not buy this if you want a comprehensive, in-depth overview of the UK's national cycle network.
