Book Description

Three classic tales from the golden age of Cyberpunk.

In this collection of short stories bestselling author William King explores the grim future world of cyberpunk where cyborg warriors battle in the steaming jungles of Central America and corporate drug pushers use cutting edge military hardware to win their turf wars.

In Green Troops, a war-weary Marine leads a patrol of genetically engineered super-soldiers into the heart of darkness.

In Easy Steps To Post-Humanity, an astronaut must give up what makes him human to reach the distant stars.

In Skyrider, an Air Force deserter wired for combat in hi-tech helicopter gunships learns the meaning of loyalty and betrayal amid the treacherous drug cartels of Southern Europe.

5.0 out of 5 stars Three thought provoking short stories. 4 Oct. 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Three very nice short stories all based around the theme of enhanced/augmented humanity.

Green Troops: A group of genetically enhanced vat grown soldiers are field tested in the jungle accompanied by a semi-cyborg commander.

Easy Steps to Posthumanity: After his girlfriend leaves him a man decides to get away from it all - very far away from it all indeed.

Skyrider: A deserter augmented military helicopter pilot is offered work doing the thing he loves best, and doesn't think too hard about the legality and implications of his new employers business.

These three short stories will only take you a total of half an hour to read. They are all very good with thought provoking subject matter that actually gave me the shivers more than once.

Overall: 5 stars! Perfectly presented on the Kindle these three stories are top quality short story writing that don't waste one single word!

3.0 out of 5 stars Engaging but too short 6 Mar. 2014

Enjoyable tales with some thought provoking highlights. Needed greater depth in my view. Recommended as a easy prelude or intro to cyberpunk.

4.0 out of 5 stars Unputdownable 15 May 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I bought this as a quick treat to introduce myself to a new genre and would highly recommend it to anyone interested in discovering cyberpunk.

It has 3 short stories, and I feel that they're good value for money.
