I bought CyberLink PowerDVD 10 Ultra for bluray home videos. I tried to install it on my new high specification Windows 7 64 bit computer without success. It told me that I needed 'Administrator Privilege'. As I have administrator privilege and am the only user of the computer, I was perplexed! I wrote five emails to CyberLink for advice but I may as well have run into a brick wall. They stalled by asking me for screen shots showing the error messages and then replied by quoting the same error message! I think CyberLink is based in Taiwan with help desks in India - whatever, something seemed to be lost in translation, or their help advisors have insufficient qualifications or experience. Poor show.
I checked the net and later found that there was a 'Hidden Administrator Account' in Windows 7 (see 'How-To Geek' website). I also found that you could enable this Hidden Administrator Account but was told "you shouldn't use this account for anything other than troubleshooting, and in fact, you probably shouldn't use it at all!". Apparantly it is designsd for security purposes. I think this Hidden Account was the reason for my problem with the installation of the CyberLink software; but if so, why did'nt CyberLink tell me about it - perhaps they did'nt know or want to know! Anyway I decided not to compromise the security of my computer in any way and to look for some alternative software. I tried Corel WinDVD Pro 2020, but the write ups were not very good. I eventually chose 'ArcSoft TotalMedia Theatre 3 Platinum'. More expensive, but I am well pleased with it.
I returned the CyberLink software to Amazon and they repayed my money straight away with absolutely no problem. On reflection, what superb customer service Amazon provide, compared with the pathetic non existent help of CyberLink. Well now I know why I am an Amazon customer - and will continue to be one.

Incredible bought this product expecting average results and indeed on my old laptop the sound and picture did not match but hook it up to a new laptop run an hdmi cable to your tv and amazing 3d in 1 press of a button, who needs to wait for 3d tv when you have this product. Only issue I have is that whenn you try a blu ray it does not allow you to enable 3d but then you can play 3d blu ray that looks incredible. Wow you guys have really made a great product who cares or wants to wait for an expensive 3d tv when

I purchased Cyberlink PowerDVD 10 Ultra edition and installed it on three seperate PCs at home running Windows 7 64bit. Each PC has a different processor, memory and graphics card. They all have the same blu-ray drive, a Pioneer BDC-S02. After a few days it prompted me to install a major update. I applied this on all three PCs and again the software worked fine with no problems.
When playing the Avatar blu-ray the picture and sound were both superb.
I can highly recommend this software to anyone else who wants a bluray player for Windows 7.

What else do u need?
It was extremely simple to install and its easy to use, it plays anything and the Blue Ray quality is very good, you can even see a better image quality when you play DVDs. Read more
