The player supports all common disk formats, even many self-created media are read without problems. Also MP3 music and digital movie files are easily handled.
The chief attraction: The CH-DVD 462 is "DivX Home Theatre" certified and therefore plays all DivX packed movies. Apart from DivX, the player also supports the open source format "XviD". Both formats make it possible to save movies on common CD-Rs in nearly DVD quality.
The player leaves no audio outputs to be desired and offers a Video, S-Video and a Scart output as well as an YCC (Progressive Scan) output. The latter increases visibly the picture quality for video projectors as well as Plasma and LCD TVs. A 96 kHz/ 24 bit D/A converter with integrated Dolby Digital Decoder provides a high-class sound.
Combined with a 5.1 equipment, the outstanding sound as well as the excellent picture quality will fascinate you. The CH-DVD 462 with its stylish Slimline Design and luminous blue display is a worthwile add-on to your already existing devices.
The clearly arranged menu and an exemplary manual make it easy to access the numerous features of the CH-DVD 462.

CyberHome did not 'blow me away',
By
This review is from: CyberHome CH-DVD 462 Slimline DVD Player - Silver (Electronics)
I recently purchased this player 1 month ago, primarily to play my numerous divx movies. All i can say is that i have so far been only satisfactorily pleased with the purchase, but it has not 'blown me away'.
The player is quiet attractive, petit, neat and slimline and has played all my movies so far without any problems. It does have impressive compatibility, a very good menu system and i have been on the cyberhome website and am pleased that there is support available for the future. However, the negatives are that the remote is badly laid out, seems very frail and may not survive brutality for long (this is especially true in my house with all the kids using it). And it seems clear to me that after using the player with/without the remote, it is a critical part of the player since good navigation and access to the menus becomes almost impossible without it. Furthermore, although playback stability is good, picture quality (i.e. in terms of enjoying a 'cinematic experience') on DVD playback is dull and not at all spectacular, so much in fact that it might make a movie seem very 'boring'. Nevertheless, as said the compatibility is good for the purchase price and especially for divx and so that is the main reason that i will hold on to it.
