Unfortunately I could not fly to London to see the exhibition that this book details, but the insight and pleasure this catalogue gives hints at what I missed. To anyone who loves or even merely admires the art of Poussin or Twombly, the accompanying essays will broaden understanding of both as well as make clear the very real link between these two masters. The illustrations from the Exhibit are very good and make me want to sneak out of the house with my passport anyway and fly immediately to Dulwich to see them in their true size. If either artist is a favorite or the inspiration of putting them side by side has intrigued you, do not to hesitate to acquire this book for many rewarding hours of appreciation and delight.
