This book should not be mistaken for a self-help guide but provides a useful insight into the confusing and compulsive nature of cutting. I found it a great gauge of how far I've come.
Carolyn Smith I commend you.
One of the most honest accounts I have ever read. Carolyn describes her thoughts and urges around her self harm with insightful detail. Book reads more like a novel than an autobiography.
As someone who self harms and am currently in therapy, I could relate to many parts of the book and especially the complex relationship between Carolyn and her therapist.
I think this would appeal to both people who self harm and professionals alike.
