Product Description

A collection of five shorts, each with a twist. 'Crack Dog' features a gun-toting pizza delivery man and his cocaine-addicted canine. In 'Bowl of Oatmeal' a lonely man begins taking advice from his well-intentioned bowl of hot breakfast cereal. In 'Don't Nag Me' a disturbed war veteran shuts up his pestering wife - for good. But being dead and buried does not make her any less of a nuisance. In 'Principles of Karma' a bored punk becomes involved with the Youth Liberation Front and tags along for an ultra violent joy ride. And finally, in 'Cutting Moments' a dysfunctional family and marriage is in a free fall towards oblivion.

4.0 out of 5 stars Intresting low budget anthology 11 Mar 2009
By Mr. Jonathon T. Beckett TOP 1000 REVIEWER
Format:DVD|Amazon Verified Purchase
This film is described as 'the most disturbing film I've seen' by Tom Savini on the front cover. Well, he must have been referring to the final, title segment which certainly stays with you for some time after you've seen it. The preceeding segments are all enjoyable, most darkly comic in tone. In 'Crack Dog' a pooch acquires its masters addiction, in 'Don't Nag Me' an Army vet is henpecked from beyond the grave by the wife he's just offed, in 'Bowl Of Oatmeal' a socially isolated man is goaded by a wisecracking bowl of porridge in his dingly flat and in 'Principles Of Karma' an alenated teen's life is transformed when he meets a revolutionary cable guy. Being low budget, the acting isnt always from the top drawer, but all the segments are enjoyable and never outlive their welcome.
If your looking to be disturbed, try watching the final segment on its own, if on the other hand your looking for an entertaining little film, full of creative ideas and a lot of wit watch this film as a whole and proceed with caution to the final segment. 4 out of 5

5.0 out of 5 stars subtle? no. Genius? probably 3 Feb 2008
Format:DVD
This DVD is a completion of five low budget movies which culminate in the title short 'cutting moments'. Cutting moments itself is a skin crawling and genuinely disturbing film worthy of being the show stopper, however there are a couple of gems on this disk not to forget.

CrackDog is a 5 minute short with a simple concept, it's about a pooch who gets hooked on the pipe. What could be better? The script is genius, the acting is hilarious and the tension is unbearable. Director Casey Kehoe should be mighty proud of this masterpiece and although I've never actually cared enough to look myself - I'm sure a quick search on IMDB will reveal the glistening Hollywood career which must've followed.

The other film worth mentioning is the teen-classic 'Principles of Karma'. Now I may be guilty of throwing the word around too much, but this truly is a work of genius. Anyone who was an angst ridden teenager growing up in sterile suburbia can probably identify with the concept of the Youth Liberation front and their charismatic cigar smoking leader. The strength of Principles of Karma is not special affects, gore or guts but inspirational speeches and perfectly delivered rants. Any lead character who uses lines like "let's go be insane and awesome" or "It's over for me kid but not for you, you can still be free, you can still be cool" has got to be good. The music is also pretty good too even if none of the acting is.

5.0 out of 5 stars Definitely worth buying 19 Mar 2011
Format:DVD
For me, this little package is perfect. 5 nice little short films, including the infamous finale: a great afternoon in. the first segment, Crack Dog, is hilarious. very trashy and cheap but great fun. The second, Dont nag Me, was a very nice little ghost story. The 3rd, a Bowl of Oatmeal, really stuck with me. the final shot is very disturbing. The 4th, Principals of Karma, is nice, although it ends a little abruptly. Then theres the 5th one...
Cutting Moments is a wonderfull short film. it uses extreme tension and images resulting in a very uncomfortable experience. I cant imagine many would be able to watch the final part of this at all, it is excruciating (although not as bad as many make it out to be- it is certainly not the most disturbing film I have ever seen) . But it is wonderfully directed, and a great great watch
All in all, get this- it caters for all tastes :)
