I never managed to catch all episodes of this while it was on TV, so bought this DVD set in the end. It was alright to begin with. Set in a hairdressing salon in Manchester, this BBC drama seemed to offer enough light entertainment for some dull weekends. However, they should have ended it after the first half of third season because after that it got so boring that, in all honesty, if they somehow stretched it to season 5, I just wouldn't bother watching. Season 4 was a complete drivel. It felt like after season 3, the creators ran out of all ideas to make it remotely interesting and just threw some stuff together just to keep it going till the bitter end. Season 4 should have been called "Milking It" and its key learning point was that it's definitely better to leave on a high.
All in all, just 2 stars because although it was good in places, overall, the series leaves you unsatisfied in many ways. Some acting was truly atrocious too.
