Ok I am a serial book reader and whilst I am not the most demanding of readers I don't always enjoy every book and struggle to finish some. I really loved this book - the plot is great, the characters are brilliantly portrayed and it is intensly readable. This is one of those rare books which grips you from beginning to end but within a few days of reading it you just want to read it again and it is as gripping and exciting to read the next time around. During an enforced book drought I read this book and Stacey's second about 3 times in 6 months and each time I felt I was reading a new book - value for money you must agree. The equestrian setting is not used only as a setting but is integral to the story without being the be all and end all - i think even people who aren't very 'horsey' may enjoy this (though if they also hate crime/mystery/thriller books then they may not!) as it isn't too involved and explains the horsey side.
You really feel for the main character Ross who is a straight laced young chap (well now anyway) who is trying his best to make it against the odds. So to summerise this book is REALLY GREAT so get out there and read it! Please.
