'Matt Hilton delivers a thrill a minute. Awesome!' (Chris Ryan )

'From start to finish CUT AND RUN gripped me like a vice on steroids . . . Each set piece scene is carefully crafted and utterly believable due to the precise prose of an author who is growing in stature with every paragraph. CUT AND RUN is Hilton's fourth and best novel to date. While he has only been on bookshelves since May 2009 he is fast becoming a staple of the crime thriller action genre.' (crimesquad.com )

'He really does grab you by the scruff of the neck and force you to keep turning the pages as fast as you can.' (Yorkshire Post )

'If you like the Jack Reacher books, you'll love Hilton's series . . . Action-packed from start to finish' (Heat on SLASH & BURN )

Praise for Dead Men's Dust:
'Hilton is more adept at humour than Lee Child . . . the series should be electrifying' (Daily Mail )

'Hilton writes well . . . a promising start' (Guardian )

'Hilton hijacks the reader on page one of this white knuckle terror ride - and doesn't let go.' (Daily Record )

'If you're looking out for a new hero with muscle and deadly skills then Joe Hunter is your man . . . breathless, page-ripping stuff' (Peterborough Evening Telegraph )

I must confess that I am a big fan of the crime /legal thriller genre, and my top 4 authors would be Kernick, Child, Baldacci and Grisham in that order. However (and here I`m in agreement with other reviewers), I decided to give Matt Hilton`s series a try, and enjoyed the first 3 tales of hard man Joe Hunter and his accomplicies (okay, companions!) Rink and Harvey. However, I must honestly say that I find that this , his fourth book Cut and Run, is actually much better than the other three.

It`s a high octane story of fights, escapes, drug wars, grenades, and primarily, our `hero` Mr Hunter out to stop a homicidal maniac who bizarrely has made himself look like Joe to try and frame him. Joe, ever the gentleman despite his hard exterior and life threatening exploits, won`t let his enemy get away though, first and foremost because he has committed the ultimate crime - hitting women!

A very good enjoyable read from start to finish if you like these types of novels, with plenty of action, blood, twists and turns, duplicity and rough justice being meted out!

Recent retirement means I can now develop my interests and thriller reading is one of them.

Matt Hilton in "Cut and Run" successsfully takes years off me, gets me fit and gives me abilities I never knew I had. He transforms me into Joe Hunter. You identify with him fully and are whisked along in his task to locate who may be his nemesis, Luke Rickard, who is eerily like Hunter in looks and abilities, except he's bad! Unnervingly there are also times when you're taken into Rickard's world and run the risk of identifying with him.

The storyline is good and you just want to keep reading. I often read a chapter of my current book in the bath. With Hilton, I find the bath water going cold and I'll climb out with wrinkly fingers. Thanks Matt!

You could do a lot worse than buy a Matt Hilton book. I'm looking forward to my next one.

OK, you love Lee Child's Jack Reacher series, but it feels like such a long wait between books, so what are you going to do?

Well, worry no longer, we've just discovered Matt Hilton's Joe Hunter series. Whilst we've dived in on Book 4, we didn't start with the first title, we didn't feel alienated, the character, which whilst darker than Reacher felt real and an anti- hero that many readers will really be able to get behind.

Add to this, an author who plays for keeps with a villain with matching skills and the game of cat and mouse that unravels within which when backed with great pace and delicious dialogue leaves the reader in no doubt that this series will be a thriller to enjoy by the seat of your pants.
