I must confess that I am a big fan of the crime /legal thriller genre, and my top 4 authors would be Kernick, Child, Baldacci and Grisham in that order. However (and here I`m in agreement with other reviewers), I decided to give Matt Hilton`s series a try, and enjoyed the first 3 tales of hard man Joe Hunter and his accomplicies (okay, companions!) Rink and Harvey. However, I must honestly say that I find that this , his fourth book Cut and Run, is actually much better than the other three.
It`s a high octane story of fights, escapes, drug wars, grenades, and primarily, our `hero` Mr Hunter out to stop a homicidal maniac who bizarrely has made himself look like Joe to try and frame him. Joe, ever the gentleman despite his hard exterior and life threatening exploits, won`t let his enemy get away though, first and foremost because he has committed the ultimate crime - hitting women!
A very good enjoyable read from start to finish if you like these types of novels, with plenty of action, blood, twists and turns, duplicity and rough justice being meted out!
