Book Description

14 Dec 2004
The third incendiary collection of stencils and graffiti from Banksy (after Banging Your Head Against a Brick wall and Existencilism), presented and bound in a handy pocket sized high quality format. Full color, and including some of most famous/notorious works to date, including ‘exhibiting’ his work at the Tate Gallery in London. Quite superb.

More About the Author

Banksy, real name unknown, was born in Bristol. His artworks are often satirical pieces of art on topics such as politics, culture, and ethics.

His street art, which combines graffiti writing with a distinctive stencilling technique, is similar to Blek le Rat, who began to work with stencils in 1981 in Paris and members of the anarcho-punk band Crass who maintained a graffiti stencil campaign on the London Tube System in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

Banksy's stencils feature striking and humorous images occasionally combined with slogans. The message is usually anti-war, anti-capitalist or anti-establishment. Subjects include rats, monkeys, policemen, soldiers, children, and the elderly.

His art has appeared in cities around the world. Banksy does not sell photos of street graffiti. Banksy's first film, Exit Through The Gift Shop, billed as "the world's first street art disaster movie", made its debut at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival.

5.0 out of 5 stars bankys best 7 May 2008
i think that this is one of Banksy's best, i am so surprised at the previous review, this is the Banksy raw street art. i feel that this still shows the underground Banksy when it was only the people on the streets seeing and appreciating his art. as the Banksy collection of these first prints i think its a precious insight into what has now become a world wide phenomenon.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not worth the money 8 May 2007
This has all the standard images and nothing new. I think Banksy is becoming a bit oversold.

It's not all thqat obvious either that the book is also a paperback that is 15cmx10cm and is probably 7mm thick.

This was a birthday gift for a longtime Banksy fan who has always wanted very clean copy of this book. The condition is 'as described' and the shipping and packaging were spot-on.
