Product Description

All it took was one scone. Tainted icing triggers a rare allergy, and a hobbyist croaks at a scrapbooking crop sponsored by Time in a Bottle, the store where Kiki Lowenstein works. When it comes out that someone swiped the victim's emergency medication, the scrappers realize they have a murder on their hands, and the entire community jumps to point the finger at Kiki and her coworkers. Suddenly, the one anchor in Kiki's stormy life is on the verge of sinking beneath a ruined reputation. But who wouldn't want to kill Yvonne Gaynor? The nasty woman had enough enemies to fill a memory album. Once again, Kiki gets sucked into a mystery that should be left to that dreamy detective, Chad Detweiller - who hasn't tried to kiss her yet. With anti-Semitic threats coming in at the store, a quarrelsome teen daughter at home, and constant financial pressure, Kiki needs to keep her cool if she's going to set things right.

Scrapbooking is my favourite hobby at the moment, with reading a close second. So finding a book about scrapbooking seemed a perfect fit for me!

I found it very easy to get into this book, the characters were believable and likable and the story was really interesting. This is a basic who-done-it with a twist towards scrapbooking. The murder victim was killed at a crop (a meeting of scrap bookers and card makers), and the wanna-be detcective, Kiki, works in a scrapbook store (the store that planned the crop) and likes to play at being a sluth since the muder of her husband.

There were plenty of twists and turns in this book and I was really wasn't able to guess what was coming next, I certainly didn't work out who the murderer was before the story told me!

I enjoyed this book so much it only took me a few days to read even though it is quite long in comparrison to other similar style kindle books. I will be looking for more books in this series as at the end of some of the chapters are craft tips/techniques that I would like to try out for myself! I also feel there is a lot more in the life of Kiki that I'd like to know about!

She doesn't write fast enough 14 May 2010
By Kate - Published on Amazon.com

I am a scrapbooker and mystery lover, so this book seemed right down my alley. I read her first book so fast my Kindle was panting from the exertion. The second book is even better, and the entire spa experience was so hilarious, it nearly killed two people (I was reading the segment aloud to my friend Sandie, who was driving at the time, and we both got to laughing so hard the car joined in!) So- here it is, mid-May 2010, and WHERE IS BOOK THREE?!! Someone needs to be lighting a fire under Ms. Slan...

Cut, Crop & Die 8 Aug 2009

I am not interested in the scrap booking hobby so I wasn't sure I would like to read this book. I almost purchased it once, then decided against it. I saw a copy at our local library and checked it out. I couldn't but it down after I began readng it. I loved it. I skipped over all the scrap booking hints included, but I am sure they were very helpful to scrapbookers. The story line and characters were great. I'd buy the next book in this series when it comes out.

Fun Read 6 Sep 2011
By D. Gindoy - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
I read this book before I realized that it was number 2 in a series, but I enjoyed it so much that I will definitely read the rest of the series. I laughed out loud at Kiki's day at the spa, and I didn't guess who the killer was until right before it was revealed in the story. You don't have to be a scrapbooker to enjoy this book, since the scrapbooking tips are between chapters and I just skipped right over those. I can't wait to find out what Kiki does in the next installment.
