This is a good well made product which does its job well. It is substantial and nicely finished which inspires confidence about its longevity.
By mounting the original strap on the tripod mount (Canon 7D in my case) and incorporating a freely moving swivel joint, it allows easy change from lanscape to portrait camera holding whilst still being secure.
So long as the tripod mount in the camera is strong, this should be fine. (I wouldn't use this product if the tripod mount thread was plastic.)
I have found I can also wear the camera across my chest too which takes pressure off my neck.
I wondered about the apparent downside of having to take off the strap to use the camera with a monopod or tripod, but now feel taking the strap off is an advantage in such circs. The number of times I have either had the camera strap snag on a branch or climbing over a style when on a monpod or tripod... Also when windy and taking a long exposure on a tripod it is annoying having the camera strap flapping about in the breeze.
So all in all a very good product, but it is a bit expensive hence the four stars

A really cool idea from custom SLR and the mount works well. I placed it on the camera and it is a nice way to have the strap connected to the body. I would give functionality 5 stars overall but I am giving 4 stars for my review due to price. It is a little pricey at $40 and would consider buying a few more once they halve the price.

Very nice design, great complement to the Split Strap

I initially bought the Custom SLR Camera Glide Strap with Split Strap and used it with the BlackRapid FastenR I already had. While that worked, the BlackRapid fastener doesn't swivel and has a single loop for attachment. The Custom SLR C-Loop has two attachment loops, which matches the Glide Strap, and it both swivels smoothly and has a nice fold-down handle for tightening and removing. Yes, it's more expensive than some others I have seen but it's also nicer and allows my camera to hang just right.
I would not recommend using the C-Loop with strap systems that have a single attachment clip, such as the BlackRapid.

Who knew that this little device could work wonders! After reading and watching many reviews on this product, I finally decided to purchase one. I don't regret the purchase at all! In fact, I wonder why I didn't buy this earlier. However, the reason I gave it four stars as opposed to five is because of the price. That was the factor that held me back for so long. The C-loop is designed so well, and it's not cheaply made. I shot a wedding with the C-loop, and it was so much easier to access my camera. In a wedding situation, that extra second it takes to grab and pull up my camera makes all the difference between getting the shot and not getting it. I would highly recommend the C-loop. If the price is what's causing you to hesitate, just buy it! I promise you won't regret it.
