3.0 out of 5 stars a good start, 20 Aug. 2013

This little primer is a good introduction into the custom clubfitting business. Everything the author said is absolutely true.......however, I was looking for a little bit more. My take away was a compilation of information readily available from other sources. There is one valuable point the author made that is absolutely true. In this business, you are not selling a golf club, you are selling yourself, and the benefits of a custom made club. To bolster this objective, the author emphasizes image, and I agree with that point, but the point was slightly tarnished and diluted with the abundance of typographical and grammatical errors in this publication. I buy into the conversational tone used by the author, but a couple of hours effort would have shined the publication a touch. Would I recommend the book, yes, but there is so much potential with a deeper rewrite in a second edition.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wow! this is a complete roadmap for success 12 Aug. 2013

This is a complete overview for success for a custom golf-club business and it includes sufficient detail to implement the ideas expressed. This book is a one place stop covering all aspects for establishing a successful and profitable business. Further it is applicable to most any product line that provides for customization for its client base. If you have such a business do not overlook this "how-to" book. It not only describes how to establish pricing, it backs up the reasons for establishing "fair" pricing. It covers pricing, marketing, advertising, selling and all the other topics associated with building a financially successful custom golf-club business. And this information is all in one place. This is one of the most valuable books I have ever read.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best book on this subject ever! 5 Sept. 2013

First, there is no other book/publication that does what Roy has done here. Roy combines the best/timeless sales concepts with industry specific information that will help anyone seeking a career in this field. It is one thing to understand how to deal successfully with people and markets (sales & marketing), and it is another to be able to competently develop the abilities to fit and build golf clubs. This book blends the two disciplines perfectly. Up to now, we had a couple of "bibles" that addressed fitting and building, now we have the complete bible as a vital guide to successfully operating a golf club fitting business.
