Excellent for beginners 26 Aug 1999
By A Customer - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
This is a wonderful introduction to Indian food that I found quite by accident at my public library. I was looking for something with not too many choices, but good selection and this is it - three or four each of soups, vegetables, meat, chicken, sauces, and a couple of desserts. If you haven't done this before, get a small ELECTRIC spice grinder and make the curry powders and garam masala first - she give very good instructions - unless you have strong hands.

Yummy And Quick 21 Jun 2011
By Emily - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Paperback
Indian cooking can be rather intimidating -- that's why I was so glad to find this user-friendly cook book. It really is a good idea to get a mini grinder for the spices, but I confess I often buy ready-made blends from Indian markets. I'm not an expert cook, just an over-worked housewife who doesn't want to spend too much time in the kitchen. QUICK AFTER-WORK CURRIES is designed for my level of expertise.

The recipes in this book are the sort you'll like to eat at least a few times a week. Two of my favorite dishes are the Curried Rice and the Tandoori Lamb Chops (I make them with pork chops). I have a few cookbooks that I've kept for several years, because they have recipes that I like to use again and again -- this is one of them. If you'd like to try entry-level Indian recipes, this is the book for you.

I have maybe 5 of Pat's books now, all very well written, easy to understand and use, pity there aren't more puctures though. Am eagerly waiting to see if the CC & / or Pat bring out a Curry cookbook dedicated for pressure cookers
