Format: Paperback
This book pretty well records everything you need to know or see know about Edinburgh with few exceptions.
The book is in three parts a)central Edinburgh,b)the new toun and c)outer Edinburgh.
For each site there is a good short account of the place ,its history, how access can be achieved and a picture. These parts are well written.
However the book has its downside -there is no index so unless you know Edinburgh well you cant find the individual sites and it is badly presented as the words go so far into the crease of the book you have to crack the spine to read it easily.Amap would have been useful.
Could have 5 stars with a bit of effort.

This is a fascinating and informative book which I will take with me when I visit the beautiful capital as it will help identify places of interest and also tell the historical back ground to them.

I barely used this book. Not helpful at all if you want to tour Edinburgh.
