A long while ago, in another life (my "Doris" life) Angela sang "God Bless The Child" to me at a gig. It was my birthday. My Mum had just died. It was spine tinglingly fabtastic.

This album is a must-have.

Whenever I smell Vetiver I think of her. Whenever I hear Billie I wish I were listening to this. A true star.

She breathes the lyrics 7 May 2009
By John Galt - Published on Amazon.com
Take the voice of Billie Holiday, the playfulness of Rickie Lee Jones, the angst of Leonard Cohen, and the straight ahead honesty of Tom Waits and you begin to approach this singer. She casually takes your heart out and holds it in her hand. If you need something to listen to while sitting in a dark room with a 15 year old scotch - this is the album to buy. My only suggestion - play it through a good amplifier with excellent speakers - the silence is as important as the sound.

Amazing voice 4 Aug. 2011
By Walter K. Ezell - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Audio CD
Angela McCluskey has a raw voice as if she's just finished a good cry. I could listen to her forever. The unrestrained accompaniments are so over the top as to be unintentionally funny. But the singer's artistry is so great, one forgives the instrumental excesses.
