5.0 out of 5 stars A Hidden Gem 8 Jan 2010
Format:Audio CD
A rare CD from 1992 featuring the lead singer from Alter Bridge - Myles Kennedy. Many like me will have found Alter Bridge and worked backwards finding other Kennedy works of genius like The Mayfield Four. This is even further back than TMF4 and is a completely different sound to what you're probably accustomed to in Alter Bridge. A different sound indeed, but a refreshing and fantastic one. I know very little about this type of music, but what i do know, is that i like what i've heard so far - a lot.

The band really seemed to share the same vision and this is reflected in their music. The compositions work brilliantly and the album is just so easy to listen to. You'd be hard pushed to walk away with anything but a big smile on your face after listening to even a single song. Myles is without doubt one of the most giften musicians of our time, and he is certainly an incredible vocalist, as well as a very accomplished guitar player. This is not just 'The Myles Show' though, it is the combination of great talent and innovation that makes this CD special.

Granted the asking price for this CD is high, you must bear in mind that this CD is no longer produced and is now a collectors item. You can however, feel better in the knowledge that you have purchased a timeless masterpiece, featuring one of musics most talented assets.

4.0 out of 5 stars certainly doesn't sound like alter bridge 26 Aug 2004
By M. Ely - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
if you've come you are probably an alter bridge or mayfield four fan. well you've come to the right place but not for the reason you may have thought. this album was made before both bands and is jazz and r and b focused. myles grew up on this sort of stuff and it certainly shows. his voice is there at this point although he hasen't grown into yet.

this is focused more on the music and he plays lead guitar on this album and that is added to with warm melodies, trumpets, drums and a bass guitar. if you want something a bit different to your collection get this and "cosmic dust fusion band" that he was also involved in (played lead guitar where he shreds) to add to your arena rock. better still if you are already a jazz and r and b fan then you will enjoy this album.

4.0 out of 5 stars in a jazz type of mood 29 Jan 2008
By Jenifer Lonergan - Published on Amazon.com
Format:Audio CD
I put this on and was able to relax into the sound; letting it wash over me. There is a raw power and grace to Myles Kennedy's arrangements and vocal ability that gives you a glimpse of the musican He has become now with Alter bridge. With that being said, the beauty of this album on it's own should not be overlooked as a great piece of fusion jazz.
