Curb Your Enthusiasm: The Book is an insightful guide into the mind of comic genius Larry David, through extensive interviews with both the man himself and his family, friends and co-stars. These interviews help to broaden our knowledge of Larry's work, and show that several of the incidents which he has been involved in (such as quitting his writer's job on Saturday Night Live, instantly regretting this as he needed the money, then showing up for work the following Monday as if nothing had happened) have ended up on our TV screens.
The author, Deirdre Dolan, was correct on maintaining the focus on Larry throughout this book, as without him there would be no "Curb" - he truly is the driving force behind the show's success, and this book reinforces that fact. A useful guide to the five seasons which have been produced (so far) puts emphasis on trivia, anecdotes and excerpts from the episode scripts, rather than just giving a potted description of what happened in each episode. This book is a thorough guide to both the man and the show, with even a two-page feature on the houses in which the fictional Davids have lived, and storyboards for the season four finale "Opening Night". An excellent purchase!
