This felt like the opening chapters of a longer story, which I guess we will get in further installments. Not a romance itself, our heroine is a divorce attorney from a family business of matchmakers.
It is a sweet story but in my opinion suitable for young women under 25,

4.0 out of 5 stars Cupid's Daughter (Cupid's Daughter #1) 24 Aug 2012

Emma Valentine is Cupid's twenty-seven year old daughter and a divorce attorney. She's happy with her life and her job. Her father is looking to retire soon and wants Emma to take over his (Cupid's) duties. She's resistant and makes a deal with her Father: she'll reunite a couple she just helped divorce, if he'll back off and let her live the life she wants. Agreement in place, Emma gets to work. Will she really turn her back on her calling as a Matchmaker?

This was adorable. However, it should be noted this isn't a "romance," this is more about romance, and Emma herself. Emma has no romantic Hero or romance of her own. I loved the family dramatics in this, it's really the kind of family that I wish I had had for myself. I thought Emma was likable, sarcastic and sweet (without being annoyingly so). Overall, cute and fun is just the best way to describe this.

The book itself has some editing issues, but nothing that seriously interfered with my reading. I did enjoy this and I have every intention of sticking with this series as it unfolds, as well as checking out what else the author has to offer.

*This is clean, no sex or anything like that.
3.0 out of 5 stars Cute Take on Cupid 29 April 2013

Cute is the word that best describes this book for me. The main character, Emma Valentine, is a divorce lawyer, but when her dad, THE REAL LIFE Cupid, asks for her help in reuniting a soon-to-be divorced couple, Emma has to perform the exact opposite of what she had been trained to do. The whole premise of Cupid and his family having a matchmaking company is really sweet. I love the fact that Cupid has magical powers that are inherited. The fact that for some strange reason, Emma's brother completely missed the Cupid gene, by a long shot, is hilarious and leads to disaster! The story is a light romance, some fun dialogue (which the Krumbines always does so well) and good humor. I would have liked to have seen more conflict between the couple Emma was trying to get back together, maybe even some more romance for Emma herself, a little more "meat" in the storyline. Maybe the next book will bring more into the story. Also, this book is a good read for all ages are there are no adult-themed scenes at all. I would bet teens and tweens would like this. Cupid's daughter is a fun, easy, quick read if you are looking for lazy-day afternoon book.
