This book is probably the best one yet in the Lulu Baker trilogy.
It kept me gripped as I turned the pages of excitement. I would definitely recommend this book to all readers, especially girls from the age of 8 to 13.

Cupid Cakes is a very exciting mysterious book. It is like a modern day fairy-tale.
The main character Lulu has a magical recipe book called The Apple Star. It has lots of recipes for all different things. Lulu and her friend Frenchie want Lulu's dad and Frenchie's mum to start dating. Lulu decides to make Cupid Cakes, a recipe for people who have loved before to fall in love with another person. The recipe goes wrong and everyone starts falling in love with the wrong person. Cupid Cakes has 224 pages and 32 chapters. I would recommend this book to people that are a little bit girly and like to read. By Eilidh, Primary 7

Funny plot twists

After reading the first book in this series "The Truth Cookie", my 10 year old daughter had to read the rest. This second book follows a similar plot line quite nicely, but seemed to be more about things Lulu had done wrong, for example not telling her dad the truth, rather than the external circumstances that caused so much suspense in the first book. My daughter enjoyed it, but not as much as the first and 3rd books in the series.
