Product Description

Product Description

Slade was undoubtedly the greatest glam rock band ever. With their unforgettable hairstyles, platform shoes, reflective clothing and scarf-waving brand of rock balladry, they were never fashionable or hip, but were hugely successful on their own terms and became a seventies phenomenon. The Black Country rockers seemed to have a permanent slot on Top of the Pops, they were featured in "Jackie" magazine every week and they released the one Christmas song that even your granny can remember. Their legacy remains and matures with each passing year and reveals them as true pop legends. Packed with over 100 era-defining photographs, this book tells the story of these much loved 70s heroes for the first time. Slade have become part of the very fabric of British life. As a nation, it seems that 35 years after their first hit single, "Get Down And Get With It", we are all still Slade crazee.

A History Of Slade 25 Aug 2006
Format:Paperback
Forget the comments by the bitter old Status Quo fan - he must be having a bad day. This book is just what we needed. It is the first history of Slade book since Chris Charlesworth biography over 20 years ago. It is long awaited and is excellent. It will serve the purpose of introducing the Slade history to all the new fans out there who only know about Dave Hill's and Don Powell's Slade II. Excellent. Good pics. A good read.

Slade - the years 4 Mar 2010
Format:Paperback
Considering how many Books the big names from the 60's get, Slade with their 20 year career among other 1970's Bands are much overlooked. This Slade Bio tries a new neat approach and looks briefly at rivals, like Mud /Sweet etc. Well ilustrated with enought details text wise it's nice to see and own. A tribute to a fine rock Band.
