Book Description

An Environment That Sustains Life, Hope, Honor and Destiny!

In this powerful, revelation-packed book, Danny Silk describes the significant paradigm shift in church life, government, and relationships that has created and sustained the revival culture at Bethel Church in Redding, California. Through many relevant and true-life stories, the church is revealed as a place of freedom, respect, empowerment, and healthy discipline (not punishment). Culture of Honor challenges the status quo of church leadership structure and presents a refreshing view of the five-fold ministry. Jesus acknowledged this important principle in Matthew 20:25-26: But Jesus called them to Himself and said, 'You know that the rulers of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those who are great exercise authority over them. Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, let him be your servant. If those with power learn how to empower those around them, then surely it will come to pass that, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. You can apply-today-the truths revealed in this practical yet supernaturally charged set of principles to relationships in your family, workplace, community, ministry, church-wherever you deal with others.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ground breaking book 13 Mar 2010
Format:Paperback
Culture of Honor by Danny Silk is not a book about being 'nice' to other people; it's much deeper than that. Bethel Church seems to have developed a Culture of Honour which is a model of Christian fellowship, but there's more to this writing. It is a ground breaking, visionary and potentially explosive book which reflects both Scripture and the heart of God. The Western Church is predominently locked into worldy success patterns with the teacher/pastor leader seen as the correct model. This book blows that whole model of leadship apart - thank God! - and demonstrates how the Christian Church can become appealing as a community once more by following in the footsteps of the Master Jesus. Excellent!

5.0 out of 5 stars A book for the renewed mind 7 April 2010
Format:Paperback|Amazon Verified Purchase
This book is for you if you have seen how man has messed up church and relationships by copying the worlds way of managing people. This book will challenge your ideas of how difficult situations should be handled coming from a place of humility to show honor and grace to those who have made huge mistakes in life ( haven't we all?). I would not have spent so much time away from church, and more importantly God, if my own situation had been handled in a Christlike manner as explained in this book.

I cannot recommend this book highly enough to anyone who finds church not hitting all the spots!
