5.0 out of 5 stars The benchmark for culture management guidance, 10 Aug 1999

This review is from: Cultural Transformation: Nine Factors for Improving the Soul of Your Business (Hardcover)
An innovative and easily understood approach to a subject traditionally veiwed as the domain of the highbrow academic. Jeff Cartwright's research based approach is refreshing and makes compulsive reading. Use of graphics is appropriate and not over used. The book makes the reader want to get involved in some form of cultural initiative. Not only are the issues raised valid in a business or organisational context, but they are also applicable to the wider socio politcal arena and society in general. A great read which will hopefully remain valid for many years. The author is to be congratulated for attempting to outreach with his chosen subject.

5.0 out of 5 stars Promoting the potential and value of all individuals, 13 Aug 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Cultural Transformation: Nine Factors for Improving the Soul of Your Business (Hardcover)
'Cultural Transformation' sets out in a straight forward manner how cultural values are the key to business and personal excellence. It contains the results of nine years continuous research and practical application given by my father to provide us with a sound understanding of human psychology within organisational cultures. He explains how he originated the Nine Factors and developed the methodology to accurately measure the positive and negative values of individuals within any given culture. As a positive way forward, he illustrates how the Nine Factors values methodology forms the basis for on-going action planning, continuous development and competitive advantage.

The Nine Factors Cultural Assessment Centre has now carried out over 250 cultural and cultural values assessments and has accumulated the scores into a National Work Culture Profile. This is being developed to provide benchmarks specific to Investors in People, EFQM Execellence and ISO9000.

This review is from: Cultural Transformation: Nine Factors for Improving the Soul of Your Business (Hardcover)
Company culture determines the economic future of an organization, affecting the morale, motivation and performance of every employee. Just as our culture is imperative to our sense of national identity, company culture can shape a common group with shared beliefs and motivations.

Rooted in extensive research, this book identifies and explains the fundamental tenet of successful business practice - engineering a positive and creative work culture for which employees across the board will share a collective commitment.

Cultural Transformation combines a comprehensive review of different management models with the psychological assessment of what actually motivates people. Tying in with such standards of best management practice as Investors in People, the Business Excellence Model and ISO 9000. The author offers practical guidance on how to measure and implement the Nine Factors identified for a successful work ethic.

Undertaken by more than 150 UK companies and organizations large and small, the Nine Factors model proves that amid the uncertainty and volatility of the business world today, company culture endures, and must be cultivated to ensure success.

Culture. Indispensable to effective management of the future.

Inspired by the work ethic of Japanese organizational culture, instrumental in shaping the world's economic superpowers, Cultural Transformation combines fascinating business and psychology theory with a proven model of practice.

Clear practical guidance is given on how to assess and measure the culture of an organization. The psychology of motivation is broken down and incorporated into the Nine Factors methodology which aims to foster a creative cultural environment. This can be used to inspire and drive employees to aim for excellence.

Cultural Transformation reveals how crucial company culture is, both at a corporate and personal level. It looks specifically at how to design and implement a cultural model to suit any organization.
