Product Description

Review

Praise for the 3rd edition - 'a major collection of previously published work... It nevertheless continues to represent a collection of major work in and around the disciplinary intersections that the not-discipline of cultural studies likes to call home. Ultimately, this is one collection that's still worth having on your bookshelf.' - M/C-Reviews --This text refers to an alternate Paperback edition.

This is a must for any cultural or media studies student. I used it for 2 out of the 3 years during my English/Cultural Studies Degree and it assisted me in all the subject areas. The articles are organised for easy reference and cover almost all of the key writers studied. Excellent for covering the key reading you do each week but also a superb start and reference for any essay or dissertation.

An excellent addition to any cultural studies scholar's library. Includes excerpts from Adorno & Horkheimer, Barthes, Clifford, Bourdieu, Lyotard, Foucault and many more prominent social critics. The key themes in cultural analysis are covered, including the questions of ethnicity and multiculturalism, sexuality, consumerism, media and leisure. This is one of those books that you keep going back to, whatever the topic you are interested in. Most essays are 10 to 20 pages long, making this text am easy to navigate introductory and/or reference resource.
