5.0 out of 5 stars Essential reading for all actively involved with the arts, 10 Dec 2006
By Michael Gwinnell (London) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Aimed at informing trustees and general management as well as the fund-raising staff of cultural organisations, this book should also be of interest to those who actively support and care about the arts. I write as a trustee of two arts organisations, as well as as a supporter of several others, and a customer of many (including some described in this book).

It's full of useful advice and informative case studies. I particularly liked the sections on endowments and legacies, which are among the less-well-practised aspects of cultural fundraising. Graham Elliott's chapter on the VAT and Gift Aid pitfalls to avoid in seeking support was excellent - it alone is worth the price of the book!
